Migraine Headaches

What is a Migraine Headache they say it is a neurological syndrome that is characterized by changing perceptions of the body, severe headaches, and nausea. Physiologically, the migraine headache is a neurological condition. And from what I understand is that it is more prevalent in women than men. I can attest to this today. My head hurt so bad this morning that I went to work for about 1 hour and had to come home. I took my Tylenol and fell asleep for about 2 hours. When I woke up the headache was pretty much gone. The crazy thing is that I can't even remember going to work. I don't think that I've had a headache near as bad as this one before. Could it be that Migraine headaches are related somehow to sinus infections? or maybe even STRESS?

Setting a Goal to Get Healthy

In many health articles they all suggest that you must first set a goal to become healthy. The first goal that must be met is to visit with your doctor to see if you are okay to start exercising. Come on! Tell me what doctor is going to tell you that you shouldn't exercise? Every time that I go to the doctor I feel guilty and embarrassed that I am so overweight that of course the first words out of his mouth is "how many times a week do you exercise?" So obviously we have to get our butts off the couch and start exercising. Exercising must become the first goal to becoming healthy. We should stretch every single day, walk around every 30 minutes, drink water all day, eat the right kinds of foods, and keep ourselves motivated. Sounds simple right?

Sleep

Tell me why is getting a good night sleep so important. Experts say it is for the body to rejuvenate. I totally agree. Getting a good night sleep is sometimes impossible. Is it that the bed is too soft, too hard? Is it the your mind won't stop when it is time to sleep. Or is it that we get too much sleep and when we wake up we just are not tired enough to fall back a sleep. Definitely aging has taken a toll. Having to wake up two or three times because the bladder can't make it all night long? When you are younger (20's) the body doesn't seem to need a lot of sleep. But in your 40's the body is tired but can't sleep when you need to. Any thoughts on this crazy thing called sleep?

Stress and being too Busy

Today was a tough day. Long and stressful but productive. However found myself not eating as well as I should. Not drinking enough water and not taking the time to eat anything. Starving is not the answer. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in work that I forget to eat. This is not a good habit to get into.
